Wild Buffalo

     The Asiatic wild water buffalo (Bubalus arnee), locally known as the "Arna" is an endangered species. Nepal has protected this endangered species in Koshi Tappu Wildlife Resurve . This types of wild buffaloes are larger than the domestic breed, nearly 3 meters long and 2 meters tall and weighing up to 1200 kg; females are about two-thirds of the size.  This type of breeds are completely different than American buffalo.  The wild Water Buffalo has been listed as endangered species in the IUCN Red List since 1986.
